Christmas

Hi, we hope all of you had a Merry Christmas! Ours was great, but interesting. It was our first year trying to figure out how to fit in both families! But it turned out great and we were able to spend time with both sides of the family. We spent Christmas Eve with the Wittwers. That is probably my favorite event of the whole year I love it! Then we woke up at six am to go open our presents from each other. Then we needed to be to my mom and dad's at seven. We got all of our presents loaded into Ashton's truck and were all buckled in ready to go when we noticed that the truck was a little.... crooked. We got out to see what was wrong and the tire was completely flat! Merry Christmas to us. We joked that Ashton must have been really bad this year so Santa slashed his tire :) After opening presents at my parent's we went over to Ashton's parents to see them and open presents. After that we went home because Ashton wasn't feeling well and he was so sick he had to stay in bed ALL day. I had to leave him for a few hours to go eat dinner with my mom's side of the family. That was fun too. I felt so bad for Ashton. He is still really sick and I've never seen him this bad so I hope he gets feeling better! Altogether it was still a good Christmas!

'Tis the Season

There is a house in St. George that you must see. We call it the Griswald's because it's as decked out as Clark Griswald's house in Christmas Vacation. It's great! Also me, Ashton, Darin, and Robin made gingerbread houses the other night. Here are some pics of it!

What to do?

So this is my venting blog. I am so confused right now. I am done with school in a week, and I'm so sad. As a lot of you know I didn't get this Biology Degree with a particular plan in mind and now it's coming back to bite me in the butt. I got this degree because a love school and LOVE Biology a lot! I'm a science geek to the core. With me graduating in a week and still jobless I'm starting for freak out. I have a lot of options, all of which have pros and cons. Do I want to continue my education since I love it so much and it's not hard for me while the economy is bad anyway? (but I can't move away from St. George and my family I'd be so sad) Do I want to get a job at a doctor's office so I can apply for PA school? (Kids would be out of the question for three more years and Ashton is getting old :) Do I want to do two more semesters of education classes and be a teacher so I can talk about science everyday for the rest of my life? (One problem is that I can't stand high school and middle school aged kids blah). I would LOVE to work outside for the BLM or Forest Service, but currently the economy is causing people to be laid off from those. Do I wait two years for Dixie to get a Medical Technologist program??? I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO. I have self-diagnosed decision making anxiety, and I've been that way my whole life! I've talked to a thousand different people including a lady high up at the BLM, the supervisor over the hospital labs, I'm going to meet with the lady in charge of the whole hospital and a man from the forest service, and so far no luck! I did not go to school for five years to work at freakin Village Inn, I cry every morning that I have to wake up 4:30 am to go in there. Sorry I just needed to get this out of my head! Thanks for listening :) Advice would be appreciated!

Oh Christmas Tree

nope, not strong enough

together with our tree

all decorated

decorated at night

We went to cut down our tree the Saturday before Thanksgiving. A little early I know! But I was just too excited. Plus that was about the only time we could do it. We took a journey off into the woods and had to go a long way before we found one. Then we found these cool rocks that I just had to have so between the four of us we were loading 2 Christmas trees, 3 HEAVY rocks, a heavy electric saw, the perfectly intact fibia of a deer, and a baby! It was quite the adventure. Once we got all loaded into the truck and headed home we drove past a patch of PERFECT Christmas trees right off the side of the road! Oh well, I liked our adventure better :)
